REBEKAH SKOOR
Rebekah
Skoor has been student of sexuality and relational intimacy for over 10
years, focusing on LGBTQ experiences and early sexual trauma. She currently
serves as a Marriage and Family Therapist trainee (MFTt) at Youth and
Family Enrichment Services in the San Francisco Bay Area providing mental
health services to a diverse population of adolescent girls with co-occuring
disorders in the juvenile justice system.
Rebekah received her MA in Human Sexuality Studies in 2005 with a thesis
project devoted to examining the role negotiation and relationship satisfaction
of lesbian couples venturing into motherhood via insemination practices.
She served as president of her class and as liaison to the HMSX faculty
while in the program as well as co-taught an undergraduate sexuality course.
Post graduation, Rebekah applied her degree educating the public while
serving as the head buyer and educational coordinator of a national adult
novelty company and authoring a sexual information column. After working
the business side of the industry for a few years, Rebekah felt compelled
to return to SFSU and acquire training as a licensed mental health clinician
and is expecting an MS in Counseling in the spring of 2009.
Rebekah is passionate about de-stigmatizing sexuality and sexual orientation
through education, counseling, and thoughtful research. She plans to continue
with her studies and research ventures via a PhD program in clinical/counseling

Rebekah has also started private counseling practice in San Francisco! Working as an intern under the supervision of Jessica Batha (#LMFT14038) at the Masonic Counseling Center. She is accepting couples and individual clients for weekly sessions.
The counseling she provide is unique for each individual and caters to
clients' specific goals.
